B.O.L.D. just opened a MySpace page. Check it out at www.MySpace.com/DowntownJaxNC, and don't forget to add us as a friend! B.O.L.D. now offers free wireless for nearby park visitors. Just stop in Monday, Wednesday or Friday to get the password and Log On!
Downtown Under Construction:
New to Downtown Jacksonville, or haven't visited lately? Be aware of the on-going construction near the Courthouse. The construction site (formerly a parking lot) is now the future jail and justice complex. Below is a map to help you find your way. Plenty of public parking is available beside / behind the Tax Office, just a 3-5 minute walk from the Courthouse. NOTE: Tallman Street is closed between the USO and the Tax Office during construction. To reach the USO and the Waterfront Park, follow Court St. to Old Bridge St. Turn right at the Courthouse, then turn right on Anne St.
B.O.L.D.'s mission is:

To promote the preservation of the commercial and residential structures in downtown Jacksonville and to aide in the enhancement of the physical and cultural elements of the area.

To educate the community about the historic role in downtown Jacksonville and of the physical and cultural attributes that exist here.

To lessen the burden of local government through beautification, revitalization and enhancement of the physical appearance and economic vitality of the downtown area.

And, to promote cooperation between City government, County government, the business community, and the citizens of Jacksonville and Onslow County, North Carolina.
